At a Distance: Explorations in Color, Light and Space
Gabriel is an award winning architect, focused on the design of museums, civic and cultural buildings. Over the last twenty years, his creative explorations have included painting, teaching and furniture design.
Gabriel’s formal arts training began at an early age, continuing at NOCCA high school and while pursuing degrees in architecture at Tulane and Harvard. He now lives (and works) in Gowanus with his wife and three sons.
Inspired by the works of Mark Rothko, Barnett Newman, Robert Irwin and others, these ‘here and now’ works are explorations in spatial perception and our interaction with color and light. Each of his paintings is unique, created with water based pigments and signed by the artist.
